We had a very busy Canada Day weekend! We started on the Friday as Daddy had the day off from work. We went to Tatamagouche so that Lily could meet her
Great Grammie and her Great Grampy for the first time! It was a long drive, but Lily slept the whole way. She enjoyed meeting Great Grammie and Great Grampy. She got to lay in her Great Grammie’s cradle from when Great Grammie was a baby. After visiting with them we went to Truro and visited with her Great Aunt Linda and her Great Aunt June before making the long trek home.
On the Saturday, we took Lily to see the Royal Nova Scotia International Tattoo. She seemed to enjoy that, too. She loved all the music and lights and the gunshots and cannons didn’t really bother her much either.
On Sunday (Canada Day), we took her to watch the parade. Most of it passed her by without her taking much notice of it, but she did see a cow sitting on top of a car and she watched the feet of one of the men in a marching band as he marched on the spot in front of us. Mostly she just enjoyed being outside for the parade.
We took her to see the fireworks that night, too. I had expected that she would sleep through the fireworks since it was well past her bed time.
She woke upon the walk to the fireworks and did not fall asleep again until we had been in the car for several minutes after the fireworks. She did watch some of the fireworks, she seemed to be in awe of the exploding lights in the sky.

Canadian Cuties!
On the Monday, we took Lily to the Shubenacadie Wildlife Park with her cousins, Auntie, Nanny and Gump. She didn’t notice many of the animals, but she did notice the snowshoe hare and watched it as it moved around it’s little cage. Mostly she looked at the trees as we walked by. She is very interested in the green leaves and the green grass – she watches the trees from inside our house, too. After the Wildlife Park we all went to Dairy Queen for ice cream and Lily got some time to play with her cousins.
